Sometimes the most meaningful impact doesn’t start with a bold plan or a clear role — it starts with a simple, humble yes.
Last year, David Bolinger, a retired professional with a heart for service, approached Crosslines with a genuine question: How could he help? He wasn’t sure where his skills would fit or how much he could really offer. When he spoke with Jamie Martin, Director of Community Engagement, David put it plainly: “I don’t know how much help I’ll be — but I’ll do whatever you need.”
That willingness turned out to be exactly what we needed.
David became an extension of our Advancement team — our behind-the-scenes relationship builder and gratitude ambassador. He stepped into the role of thank-you caller, personal note writer, and the friendly voice inviting donors to tour Crosslines and see their generosity at work. Again and again, he helped ensure that our supporters didn’t just receive a receipt, but felt seen, valued, and deeply appreciated.
His work matters more than he knows. Each call, each handwritten note, each invitation helped strengthen relationships that sustain our mission and remind donors that their gifts truly make a difference.
David didn’t seek recognition. He simply showed up, did the work with care, and served with humility. And because of that, Crosslines — and our donors — are better for it.
We are profoundly grateful for David’s willingness, his consistency, and his quiet faithfulness. His story is a powerful reminder that when someone is willing to say “I’ll do whatever you need,” extraordinary things can happen.
