Through a $50,000 matching gift challenge, Bill and Virginia are encouraging the community to step up and support Ambassadors for Children, a program of Crosslines Community Outreach that serves foster children and youth and their families.

State funding for foster families in Missouri is among the lowest in the nation—covering only a fraction of the true cost of raising a child. That leaves many families struggling to meet even the most basic needs.
Ambassadors for Children steps in to bridge that gap, offering essentials like clothing, shoes, hygiene items, haircuts, and access to therapies and enrichment activities not covered by insurance. With the help of generous donors like the Darrs, children in care can experience not just stability—but dignity.
